Moving Day

Before you move, take a medium to large moving box and mark it "The Box."  If you have children, you might let them paint or draw on it so it is special to everyone.  In this box, you will want to include the following items to get you through the first couple of days when you are unpacking, organizing, etc.

• your Home Search Notebook
• valuables you don't want to lose
• toilet paper
• paper towels
• paper plates
• paper cups
• key utensils
• cleaning supplies
• phone book
• light bulbs
• broom, dustpan, mop and bucket
• vacuum cleaner (may not fit in box)
• Post-it notes
• pencils, pens, & markers
• flashlights
• candles
• toilet seat (if needed)
• shower curtain with hooks
• bath and face towels
• tools:  hammer, screwdrivers, nails, picture hooks, duct tape, masking tape, spackle, caulk

If you have children, you may want to create a box for them and let them decorate it and be creative.  Fill it with fun things to keep them distracted during the move.
