Do You Qualify?

                                                   ***NOTICE***

Please note that the screening process for this program can take several weeks or more. If you are in need of immediate housing assistance, please contact the Gwinnett Helpine at 770-995-3339. They may be able to provide you with contacts for other agencies in Gwinnett that can provide housing. If you are outside of Gwinnett, but in the Atlanta area, you can also call the United Way 2-1-1 Hotline as well. Simply dial 2-1-1 to reach them.

Entry into the IMPACT! Transitional Housing Program is very competitive! Each week, our organization receives calls from many worthy families asking about our program. While IMPACT! is proud of our successful history in helping families recover, the program can only serve 22 families at any one time. Moreover, families that do enter our program must meet very strict guidelines.

Please review the guidelines below before applying to our program. If you feel that you DO meet these requirements, then please complete the intake form at the bottom of this page and submit it to IMPACT!. The form will be reviewed by an IMPACT! case manager and you will be contacted if a program opening becomes available. Because space may not become available for many weeks, it may be some time before a case manager is able to follow-up with you.

To enter the IMPACT! Transitional Housing Program:

  • Your family must have at least one dependent child under the age of 18.
  • Your family must give proof that you are homeless and reside in Gwinnett County. Proof could consist of an eviction notice, a motel invoice, a letter from the person you are staying with, etc.

  • At least one head of your household must be employed.
  • Your family must have some means of daily transportation, both to and from work and for office visits to IMPACT!
  • You must be willing to undergo random drug screenings and home inspections - failure to pass them will lead to eviction from the program.
  • Each family that enters the program develops a strict self-sufficiency plan to help you get back on your feet. As part of this plan, you must work regularly with a case manager and a credit counselor to improve your financial situation. However, this includes following a strict budget and meeting different goals while in the program, including starting a savings account, regardless of your income level.
  • No pets are allowed while you are in the program.

The free services of the Transitional Housing Program are made possible through the generous financial support of the following organizations:
