The 90-minute orientation is an overview of all options related to delinquency and loss mitigation, and emphasizes how delinquent borrowers can prevent the loss of their home by getting housing counseling and taking action. The orientation covers what to do when making mortgage payments becomes difficult, how to assess current finances and develop a budget, alternatives available to delinquent borrowers, and how to avoid becoming a victim of predatory lenders and home-equity fraud.

Realizing the American Dream Homebuyer Workshop

Realizing the American Dream is a homebuyer workshop designed for first-time homebuyers and repeat purchasers who want to improve their homebuying savvy. Local lenders, real estate agents, home inspectors, and home insurers join with The IMPACT! Group’s nationally certified housing counselors to dispel the myths surrounding home ownership and to help you avoid homebuying scams and predatory lending. This day-long, HUD-approved workshop is offered in English and Spanish, and provides current information on the finer points of the homebuying process. You’ll leave this workshop with the confidence and know-how to achieve your dream of homeownership the smart way.
Upon completion of this course, you’ll also have the opportunity to schedule a one-on-one appointment with a housing counselor. Your housing counselor will be there for you throughout the entire homebuying process to provide you with objective advice and unbiased recommendations. Remember: Most of the people you will encounter during the homebuying process will have something to gain from the purchase of your home. It is essential that you have someone to help you make informed choices about your investment.
Get Fiscally Fit Financial Management Class

Get Fiscally Fit is a financial management class that teaches you how to strengthen or repair your credit record, to get the most out of the money you have, and to accumulate wealth over time. There’s no get-rich-quick scheme here; to get “fiscally fit” you’ll need to commit to long-term changes in your personal habits. The payoff: Immunity to financial emergencies, stability and security in your daily life, and a stress-free retirement in the future. The Youth course focuses on developing good financial habits early in life—especially with regard to credit and consumer spending.
